John T. Schell 
John Schell is President of Sigma Federal. He has served for the past six years as president of Altus Associates, LLC and its predecessors, where he has supported dozens of companies in the federal market and other industries. He has successfully carried out over 15 M&A engagements in the federal market. He is also a Registered Representative of Fairfax Capital, LLC. Prior to joining Altus in 2000, Mr. Schell served as President and CEO of Thread Technology, Inc. of Falls Church, Virginia, where he organized and built a high technology marketing and manufacturing company and spearheaded the development and commercialization of a revolutionary mechanical technology, which was first used by NASA to repair the Hubbell Space Telescope and is now being used to assemble the International Space Station. Mr. Schell practiced law in Washington, D.C., for over 20 years. His last legal position was as a partner in the nationally known firm of Hogan & Hartson LLP. In addition to an active general corporate practice in areas such as corporate governance, commercial transactions, financing and securities offerings, he had extensive experience in public utility matters, including telecommunications, electric utility and nuclear regulation, oil and gas operations, and rail, shipping and trucking rate and service regulation. Mr. Schell received his bachelor’s degree in history from Auburn University in 1967 and earned his JD from the University of Virginia in 1970. |
